Cameras Keep A325 safe
Vulnerable road workers and motorists are being protected by speed enforcement in the road works on the A325 north of Bordon.
A spokesperson for the Safety Camera Partnership which will be carrying out the enforcement in the road works between Frith End Road and Binstead Road said: “There is a temporary 30 mph speed limit to protect workers who are in close proximity to the traffic. As with most road works there are also hazards for the motorists which the temporary limit seeks to minimise. ”
The road works which involves not only resurfacing but rebuilding the edge of the carriageway are expected to go on for several months. The road is already a casualty route and subject to regular mobile enforcement.
The spokesperson went on to say: “The speed limit on the road is normally 60 mph and we are keen to alert people to the new temporary limit and the fact that they are likely to get caught if they ignore it. The temporary 30 mph speed limit is clearly signed and it is important for everyone’s safety that motorists keep well within this limit.
