Safety camera site enforcement strategy

• Speed enforcement conducted by the Safer Roads Unit is intelligence led. The locations with the greatest number of fatal or serious collisions will receive the greatest level of enforcement.

Safety camera site offence data

• During the twelve month period April 2010 to March 2011, 62,768 speeding offences were detected in Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Portsmouth and Southampton. 
• Of these speeding offences, around 7% resulted in prosecution, 42% are paid via a fixed penalty with points added to a driving license, and 44% resulted in a driver awareness course. For the remaining offences the final disposal is not currently known.
